Event Report
Seven hours of public attendance to FOSS promotion and support completed.
0. Our main achievement was getting doors open again, after three years' absence from SFD celebrations.
The suspension had been due to several factors, mostly the CoViD pandemic era lockdowns closing public events, while permanent changes at our local library long-term venue made regular demonstration space there unavailable.
Much has changed in the ICT space over those three years, especially the trend towards remote work, diversified platforms, social fragmentation and isolation. So it remains to be seen if SFD events could ever return to the level of support they had in the earlier 2000s. Globally, organisation of SFD has also diminished, e.g. our event archives begun in 2004 have been lost.
