Event Description:
Software Freedom Day (SFD) – Aleppo 2025 is a celebration of free and open-source software (FOSS) and digital freedom, organized by Sanad Youth in collaboration with local and international partners. The event aims to raise awareness, build skills, and foster collaboration in the local tech community. Participants will explore the concept of software freedom through keynote lectures, hands-on workshops (InstallFest), interactive exhibitions, and mini hackathons.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about open-source tools for education, productivity, development, security, and more.
  • Participate in practical workshops to install and use Linux and other FOSS applications.
  • Join interactive challenges and competitions with prizes and recognition.
  • Connect with like-minded students, developers, academics, and local tech organizations to build networks and collaborations.

This event is part of a global initiative by the Digital Freedom Foundation and aligns with the mission of Sanad Youth and its Technology Lab in Aleppo to empower youth, promote innovation, and support community-driven open-source solutions.
