Friends of the Digital Freedom Foundation

There are hundreds, if not thousands of software projects out there that foster software freedom. We're greatful for all of them. There are a few organisations that earned a special spot on the timeline of the DFF.

	The Free Software Foundation (FSF) is a nonprofit with a worldwide mission to promote computer user freedom.
	Free Software Foundation Europe is a charity that empowers users to control technology. Software is deeply involved in all aspects of our lives. Free Software gives everybody the rights to use, understand, adapt, and share software. These rights help support other fundamental rights like freedom of speech, freedom of press, and privacy.
	The main websites of the DFF run on Joomla - without their powerful and flexible ecosystem, it wouldn't be possible to develop our organisation to what it is today.
	The Creative Commons organisation strives to create a framework enabling sharing knowledge and cultural works in a respectful way. They share the same ideals as the Software Freedom movement and enable us to use works from other artists while still respecting their efforts.
