About Manchester Free Software

[Free Software (MFS)] aims to promote the [software philosophy], centred in [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchester|Manchester]. We provide a friendly and accessible community to learn about and discuss free software.

Event Aim

Our aim for Software Freedom Day (SFD) is to celebrate software freedom, and to engage with and encourage personal computer users, local businesses, government bodies and other groups to use [Software] and to promote the [Software] philosophy.

When?

11am - 4pm. Saturday, 21st September 2013.

Where?

[Castle Hotel] in the Northern Quarter.

Parking?

The venue parking facilities are not amazing. There are parking meter bays on the street but its very expensive, only really good for a short stop. There are paid parking lots around the venue, the light blue P in this [centred on The Castle Hotel], though we can't vouch for how good they are. A lot of them, perhaps all, are are owned by [http://www.ncp.co.uk/|NCP]. If you can't decide otherwise then park in Manchester Arndale.

Public Transport?

[Victoria (MCV) train station], [tram station] and [Piccadilly bus station] are all fairly close to The Castle Hotel, see [centred on The Castle Hotel]. [Piccadilly (MAN) train station] and [Central Coach Station] are not too far either.
