The agglomerate consists of Kathmandu Metropolitan City at its core, and its sister cities [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patan,_Nepal|Patan], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirtipur|Kirtipur], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madhyapur_Thimi|Thimi], and [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhaktapur_municipality|Bhaktapur].
