Software Freedom Day 2014 dspaceclub (Hamirpur, India)

Description

DSpace Users Club

DSpace Users Club is the gropu of DSpace user’s community in India based in Gujarat. The key objective of the club is to create awareness, coordination and familiarity between DSpace Users.

. As an open source Club, we have our own activities. Here the Club is experimenting with a new concept on open source technologies; we prefer to call it 'Idea Building Space'. We provide a space for Open Thinkers to shower their ideas, discuss with peers and refine them. The important aspect of technical community is the ability to express what you’re thinking. The open source model can be an important factor in innovation, but it comes with limitations. We conduct DSpace Installation Day, Seminars, Webinars and training in different places in Gujarat. We promote open source technologies in the region to enhance better quality of life in the digitized world.

Software Freedom Day (SFD) is a global celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). Our goal in this celebration is to educate the worldwide public about of the benefits of using high quality FOSS in education, government, at home, and in libraries.
