Dear Everyone;Greetings!... We encourage everyone to explore IT environment. We will create an opportunity for everyone to discover and learn more about Information Technology. I am inviting everyone to join & participate for the upcoming Information Technology Festival or IT Fest in celebration with the 'SOFTWARE FREEDOM day 2011' which is a global celebration and education of why transparent and sustainable technology are now more important than ever. With over 200 teams in 60 countries participating. It is fantastic event to get you get involved in. Here are the proposed activities:Major Activities:

I.T. Fest & SFD 2011 COMPETITION GUIDELINES
1. The I.T. Fest & SFD 2011 COMPETITIONS are open to all students of Subic Bay Colleges, Inc. And also for outsiders with an additional of PhP. 30.00 entrance fee for the I.T. Fest & SFD 2011 Registration Fees.
2. The contestant(s) must be a registered participant in the I.T. Fest & SFD 2011 and must also be a student/faculty member and currently enrolled/working in the school that he/she is representing.
3. Competitor can only join one competition for each day.
4. The contestants must present their current school registration form and school ID upon registration.
5. The event shall be held on September 12-17, 2011 at Subic Bay Colleges, Inc. Olongapo Branch
6. The contestants must pre-register appropriately to the competitions they intend to join. First come, first serve basis will be strictly followed. Deadline for the pre-registration for all competitions will be on September 11, 2011.
7. All competitors will receive a certificate of participation.
8. Competitions will be held on both days as followed:

Day 1: September 12, 2011 – MondayCOMPETITIONS:DOTA ALLSTAR TOURNAMENTVersion : 1.26Map : 6.72cPlayers : 3 v 3 GameMode : Captain Mode (-cm)IGR (In Game Rules)Game Time : 10 minutes will be given for the groups to preparetheir respective battles. If the Group did not showup after the given time they will be forfeited.Pick or Side: The leader from both teams will toss a coin to call ithead & Tail. The winner willDecide if they will choose to “Pick (1st or 2nd) or“Side (Scourge or Sentinel)Banning & Pickings: Each Team will have to band 4 heroes fromtavern (alternate pick) The 1st pick will be theone who will ban their 1st hero. Then theother team. Will ban their 1st hero untilbanning was completed by 4 hero each teamBackdoors : IS NOT ALLOWED. Means every player is notallowed to attacked towers or any Other structuresif they don’t have any creeps attacking the structureor 300 areas around the structure or creeps arebeyond the towersCreeps Keeping: IS NOT ALLOWED. Means any hero cannot advancebeyond the tower to attack creeps.Pulling : IS NOT ALLOWED. (Normal creeps) means anyplayer cannot pull the creeps away from anywhereintentionally.Feeding : IS NOT ALLOWED. Means none of the player isallowed to purchase items to give to any player(except: Observer wards & Sentry Wards)Sharing : IS NOT ALLOWED. Means you cannot share yourunits to any of your teammatesGame winner: The team who destroyed the throne of theirenemies will be declared as the winner.ITEM RULESOnly 1 player from each team is allowed to use the following items in their inventory.

The winner will Decide if they willchoose to “Pick Side (Counter Terrorist or Terrorist).Game winner: The team who gets a score of 15 both sides CounterTerrorist & Terrorist1 lose for the TEAM and the TEAM is OUT OF THE GAME!The UNDEFEATED TEAM WILL BE DECLARED AS THE CHAMPION!Prizes: THE CHAMPION TAKES ALL
Day 3: September 14, 2011 – WednesdayCOMPETITIONS:TYPING MASTER1. Errors are shown in red.2. You can correct them with Backspace and Delete.3. A missing or extra space is shown with a red box â–ˆ.4. Symbol ¶ marks the end of paragraph and requires pressing Enter.5. Pressing Enter at the end of the line without this symbol is counted as error.6. The tournament is real-time.7. The one with the highest net speed is declare as the winner
QUIZ BEE1. Each competing team is composed of three (3) members.2. The topics for the quiz bee are the following:• ICT FUNDAMENTALS• TURBO C++• JAVA PROGRAMMING3. The competition is divided into three (3) rounds, namely the Easy, Average and Difficult rounds.4. Each team shall choose and identify the given choices within the allotted time.5. There shall be five questions in each round. The weight of every correct answer is listed below• Easy round category - 2 points for every correct answer• Average Round Category - 3 point for every correct answer• Difficult Round Category - 5 points for every correct answer6. The top three teams who garnered the highest cumulative score shall be declared as Second Runner-up, First Runner-up and Champion of the IT Quiz Bee respectively.7. In case of a tie in any of the top three positions, a knock out system shall be applied. The team(s) who will survive shall be declared as the winners.
LOGO MAKING (Adobe Photoshop CS4)1. Each student may submit one design for the whole event.2. Design entries should reflect the SBCI CCS acronym.3. Softcopy of the design entries will have to be submitted to the Committee oncompetition upon registration. It should be in PSD format.4. Only unique designs will be considered.5. The judge’s decision is final and irrevocable.6. The criteria for judging will be as follows:• THEME (Meaning / Symbolism of Artwork) 40%• ARTISTIC CREATIVITY & ORIGINALITY 40%• VISUAL IMPACT (Overall Appeal of Design & Style) 20%• TOTAL 100%
Day 4: September 15, 2011 – ThursdayCOMPETITIONS:WEB DEVELOPMENTNETWORKINGTROUBLESHOOTING
Day 5: September 16, 2011 – FridayCOMPETITIONS:MOVIE MAKINGCOSPLAY1. You break it you bought it.2. The Cosplay Head has the right to deny participation to any entry if it is determined to be violating the spirit of the rules.3. Costumes must not exceed a PG-13 rating.4. All costumes must cover more than a modest bikini would. Naked is not a costume.5. Sharp-edged weapons will not be accepted.6. Guns must be nonfunctional and obviously props. Please do not point them at people.7. Be cautious with your props, there will be a lot of equipment nearby – you break it you buy it.8. If you have any questions about props please contact the Cosplay Head.9. You must have some kind of foot covering. Shoes or boots are required. Be aware of safety concerns.10. If your character does not wear shoes the lack of accuracy will be forgiven; consider flesh-toned or clear shoes.11. Own made Characters are not accepted. This is a cosplay contest, not a design contest.12. Walk-on cosplayers will be given a maximum of 45 seconds to present their costumes.
